When the pandemic started, in-person classes were cancelled. Over time, these pivoted to online classes. Not all students eagerly adopted the new format. It might have taken him a little longer than he expected to get his Electrician's license, but Robert Pereira-Tomé is very happy to finally be a fully licensed electrician. His hard work and grit paid off.

Life often takes many unexpected turns. Dakota Brown had graduated from the Pearson School of Culinary Arts and was working at a renowned Montreal restaurant. This was his dream. Life was good! Then, the pandemic hit and his job disappeared. He knew that he needed to find something new to do. He did just that when he enrolled in the General Building Maintenance program at the Verdun Adult & Career Centre.

Even though he had 30+ years of experience in electricity and telecommunications, Oscar Beltran's skills and education were not enough to get him a job that fit with his expertise and education. By signing up for the RAC process, he will be able to get his skills and experience officially recognized.

In spite of having many years of experience as an administrative professional, Patricia Bouchard was not being considered for more advanced jobs. The lack of accredited certification, pertinent to her industry, hampered Patricia’s career. She was passed over for jobs that she was qualified to do because of the absence of such accreditation. Luckily, she discovered the RAC process which allows candidates to obtain official recognition for their professional competencies.

How often do we call someone a warrior? Norma Condo is just that: a warrior. In spite of unexpectedly becoming a single mother of five a month before starting her Professional Cooking program at PSCA, Norma found the strength within her to follow her dream of becoming an Indigenous chef.
