We have some great news for residents west of Montreal. Starting on September 4, Place Cartier will be offering high school courses in Hudson at Westwood Junior High School. These classes will be offered in the evening.
In the past, when off-island residents wanted to take some high school courses in English, they would need to head east to Montreal. But no more. This is welcome news for residents of off-island municipalities including Vaudreuil, Hudson, St. Lazare and other nearby communities.
Place Cartier’s new campus will offer English, Math, and Science high school courses, as well as conversational French and Computer Literacy courses. These courses are aimed at adults who need to complete their high school diploma, get CEGEP prerequisites, improve their spoken French or learn computer skills.
The campus will be the first to offer high school courses in English west of the island. Place Cartier Centre Director Myriam Rabbat says “We are very excited to offer courses to off-island residents. These courses will give adults the opportunity to complete their high school diploma, finish their CEGEP prerequisites, or improve their spoken French.”
The main campus of Place Cartier located on Beaconsfield Blvd, in Beaconsfield, will continue to offer the full range of high school courses during the day and evening. The courses offered in Hudson are specifically geared for students who wish to either complete CEGEP prerequisites or complete their high school diploma.
To register for courses at Westwood Junior, please call Place Cartier at 514- 694-8500. Registration starts on July 23.
