The Lester B Pearson School Board’s Continuing Education department is seeking qualified candidates for part-time teaching in the Computing Support and Networking program at Verdun Adult and Career Centre (VACC) and Pearson Electrotechnology Centre (PEC). This program leads to the DVS/DEP and prepares students for the job market at entry-level. Come join our team of dedicated teaching professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

● DEP/DEC or post-secondary diploma or degree in Information Technology

● Min. 5 years of industry experience

● Expert knowledge in one or more of:

• Windows OS Server/Workstation
• Linux 
• Database programming 
• Object-oriented programming
• Cisco networking
• Computer hardware
• Microsoft Office

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

● Open to professional development

RESPONSIBILITIES

● Observe and evaluate students’ work

● Assess progress, provide feedback and suggestions for improvement

● Plan course content and method of instruction

● Select and assemble materials, supplies, and equipment

● Correct and grade final examinations

● Plan, organize, and supervise the class in such a way as to promote student learning

● Enter daily attendance in database
